It’s more than just a suburb outside Philadelphia.

From the ice cream shops, historical landmarks, overpriced Christmas shows, and abundance of deer, it is safe to say that Bucks County, Pennsylvania is more than just a suburb outside Philadelphia. And although we may have complained about it from time to time, it is important to recognize how fortunate we are to have grown up in such a lovely town.

If you consider yourself a Bucks Countian, chances are you will relate to the following:

1. Telling people you live “45 minutes outside of Philadelphia.”

2. Going to the Jersey shore on weekends.

3. Being either “Team Neshaminy Mall” or “Team Oxford Valley Mall.”

4. But knowing the 45-minute drive to King of Prussia is always worth it.

5. Rita sells water ice NOT “Italian ice.“

6. This is a HOAGIE, not a “sub.”

7. You know what Mischief Night is.

8. Odds are you took a school field trip to Pennsbury Manor, Churchville Nature Center, Six Flags, and/or the Trenton Thunder stadium.

9. You’ve taken the New Jersey transit from Hamilton to NYC.

10. You took off school the day the Phillies won the World Series due to “Phillies Phever.”

11. Bragging about how Pennsbury Prom, aka “The Greatest Prom in America,” takes place right in your hometown.

12. You’ve been late for work waiting for ducks and geese to cross…

13. …and have slammed the brakes due to random deer dashing in front of your car on multiple occasions.

14. You used to go to the Shadybrook light show every year until they raised the price to $40.

15. You’ve gotten apple cider from Styer’s market.

16. You took your driver’s test at either Neshaminy or Hunnington Valley.

17. RIP Goodnoe’s </3

18. You’ve driven past Sesame Place a million times but have only been there once.

19. You’ve been to a NAC birthday party at least once.

20. And even probably a Giggleberry Fair one.

21. You’ve gone laser tagging at UltraZone.

22. Feeny’s has supplied a plethora of your Christmas decorations.

23. You’ve gotten up at 7 am to go to Rice’s flea market

24. You travel up to Peddler’s Village during Christmastime every year.

25. You’ve listened to Chris and the Crew on PST.

26. You’ve gone tubing down the Delaware.

27. You’ve seen a play at the Bucks County Playhouse.

28. Sleepy Hollow hay rides were always scarier than Shadybrook ones.

29. You’ve dodged horse poop at Core Creek Park and Tyler Park.

30. You love the Farmer’s Market.

31. Ow Ow Cow is one of your go-to ice cream spots.

32. You grew up petting the animals at the Middletown Grange Fair.

33. You casually brag about how P!nk grew up in Doylestown.

34. Or how “the dollhouse” in Pretty Little Liars is located in Tyler Park.

35. You leave Fred’s in New Hope a few pounds heavier than when you entered.

36. Thinking there’s no waffle quite like a Nina’s waffle.

37. You most likely took a summer class at Bucks Community College.

38. Throughout your teenage years, you may have complained about how boring it was to live in Bucks County.

39. It’s not until after you left that you realized how fortunate you were to have grown up here…

40. …and how much you miss and love this place you will always call home.
